Recap: Linden Tigers vs. Newark Collegiate Academy Panthers
On Sunday, the Linden Tigers's game was all tied up 28-28 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 63-53 win over Newark Collegiate Academy.
Linden had a senior duo take command as Nas Robinson scored 26 points along with two steals and Elijah Butler dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Butler is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jekhi Burnam, who scored five points along with three blocks.
Linden's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Newark Collegiate Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Linden will take on Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Franklin is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Newark Collegiate Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Orange at 4:00 p.m. Orange will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Newark Collegiate Academy is ranked 29th).
