The South Rebels will head out to take on the Chardon Hilltoppers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. South is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.1 runs per game this season.

South is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering West Geauga just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolverines.

Makayla Schneider was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Paige Janson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

Meanwhile, Chardon fell victim to Riverside and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Beavers, falling 9-0. The Hilltoppers haven't had much luck with the Beavers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

South's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Chardon, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 10-3.

Wednesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. South has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .456. However, it's not like Chardon struggles in that department as they've averaged .432. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

South couldn't quite finish off Chardon in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 and fell 9-7. Can the Rebels avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
