High Point Academy hadn't done well against Landrum recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Everything went the High Point Academy Grizzlies' way against the Landrum Cardinals as the High Point Academy Grizzlies made off with a 76-52 win. The Grizzlies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 20 points or more this season.

High Point Academy was led to victory by Joc Miller and Chonci Miller. Joc went 7 of 13 en route to 18 points, while Chonci went 7 for 9 on his way to 17 points along with six boards and three steals. Joc is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Copeland, who posted ten points and four steals.

High Point Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in nine consecutive contests.

Landrum's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Atkins, who put up seven points and four blocks. The dominant performance also gave Atkins a new career-high in assists (four). Noah Dodd was another key player, putting up 11 points.

High Point Academy's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26 points. As for Landrum, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6.

High Point Academy and Landrum should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings. High Point Academy will take on Blacksburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday up 178 places (25 vs. 203). High Point Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 73.9 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Landrum (ranked 102nd) will meet Greenville Tech Charter (ranked 246th) at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
