Basketball Game Preview: Watersprings vs. West Jefferson Panthers

After both having extra time off, Watersprings and the West Jefferson Panthers will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Watersprings' favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while West Jefferson has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Watersprings will head into Saturday's contest hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 25) and last Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged Council out 54-52. Given Watersprings' advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Council is ranked 71st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, West Jefferson can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game last Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 70-67 victory over Soda Springs. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Watersprings' win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for West Jefferson, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
