Recap: Campolindo Cougars vs. Liberty Lions
The Campolindo Cougars came tearing into Saturday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 49-37 win over Liberty. That's another feather in the cap for Campolindo, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Campolindo's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tim Smith led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Mansour, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 assists.
Campolindo's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Liberty, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.
Campolindo will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Berean Christian at 7:30 p.m. Berean Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1045th, while Campolindo is ranked 266th). As for Liberty, they will head out on the road to face off against Sierra at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
