Recap: Clinton Prairie Gophers vs. Kouts Mustangs & Fillies
The Clinton Prairie Gophers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They fell 57-44 to Kouts.
Clinton Prairie's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Morgan, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Hyleigh Wilson, who scored 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Clinton Prairie has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season. As for Kouts, their victory bumped their record up to 5-11.
Clinton Prairie will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against North White at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. North White is on a seven-game streak of home losses, Clinton Prairie a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Kouts is on the road again on Friday and play against Rochester at 12:00 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Hopefully Rochester focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 last Wednesday.
