Cleveland strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past the Smithfield-Selma Spartans 62-6. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-0.

Crishard Pettaway was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 62 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries, and also picked up 31 receiving yards. Those 31 receiving yards gave him a new career-high. Maddox Borden also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Cleveland proved: they limited Smithfield-Selma to a paltry 0.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Diondre Haynes for the heroic effort on defense: he. Cleveland didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.7.

Cleveland's defense didn't let Johnavon Cox, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. Derek Locklear was especially locked on to Smithfield-Selma's QB and sacked him twice. Locklear has been hot recently, having posted at least one sack the last three times he's played. Another thorn in Smithfield-Selma's side was Daniel Lugo, who picked up a sack and made five total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Cleveland's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Smithfield-Selma, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
