Basketball Recap: Broadwater Academy Vikings vs. Denbigh Baptist Christian Minutemen
Broadwater Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Denbigh Baptist Christian Minutemen and fell 72-20. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Minutemen this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 71-42 back in January.
Broadwater Academy got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Chris Ames and Bennett Custis, who each put up five points. Noah Pruitt held things down on the boards with two rebounds.
Denbigh Baptist Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyson Fox, who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of William Showalter, who had 14 points.
Broadwater Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Denbigh Baptist Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.
