Baseball Recap: Pendleton County Comes Up Short

Pendleton County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 9-4 to the Mason County Royals. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Royals from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Easton Verst was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Micah Biddle was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Pendleton County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Mason County, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-5.

Coming up, Pendleton County will challenge Owen County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Mason County, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Russell at 11:00 a.m.
