Basketball Recap: Varnado Takes a Loss

After flying high against Mt. Hermon last Thursday, Varnado came back down to earth. The Varnado Wildcats fell 58-49 to the Holden Rockets on Friday. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 63-52 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Varnado's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Holden, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-9.

Varnado will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Central Private at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Holden, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hicks at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
