Baseball Recap: Bolingbrook Comes Up Short

Bolingbrook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Joliet West Tigers. If the Raiders were looking for revenge after losing 8-5 to the Tigers when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Bolingbrook saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thomas McDermott, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Adrian Hernandez also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Bolingbrook's loss dropped their record down to 3-7-1. As for Joliet West, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11.

Looking ahead, Bolingbrook will host Plainfield South at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.08 runs per game on average), something the Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Joliet West, they are taking a road trip to take on Oswego East at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
