It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but San Marcos ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Oxnard Yellowjackets, sneaking past 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Royals have posted against the Yellowjackets since March 20, 2023.

Lucia Dessert spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, San Marcos saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sutera Raring, who went 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits Raring has posted since back in March.

San Marcos' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-9. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Oxnard, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7-1.

San Marcos will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Yellowjackets: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
