Softball Recap: Otter Valley Wins Going Away Against Springfield

Otter Valley lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Springfield, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's matchup. The Otters blew past the Cosmos 15-3 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Otters, who have now won three contests by 12 runs or more so far this season.

Sophie Parker made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Parker was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Parker is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, Michelle Hendee was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Leann Thomas was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Otter Valley's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Springfield, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Otter Valley will venture away from home to square off against Rutland at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Springfield, they will square off against Proctor at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
