After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pleasant Plains/New Berlin, Athens/PORTA was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Auburn Trojans a 2-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-0 back in April.

Marianna Martinez and Ava Bee scored both of Athens/PORTA's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 34 goals.

Athens/PORTA is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Auburn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-11-1.
