Volleyball Recap: Wabasso Takes a Loss

Wabasso and Canby squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Wabasso had to settle for second. They came up short against the Lancers, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Rabbits in their meetings with the Lancers: they've now lost seven in a row.

While Wabasso was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Canby's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-21, 25-22.

Leading Canby to victory were Jaryn Houseman and Alexa Vernlund. Houseman had 15 digs and two aces, while Vernlund had nine digs and three aces. That's the most digs Houseman has posted over her last six matches.

Wabasso's defeat dropped their record down to 17-11. As for Canby, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season.

While Wabasso had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
