Softball Game Preview: Roncalli Royals vs. Indian Creek Braves

The Roncalli Royals will take on the Indian Creek Braves at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Roncalli's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Indian Creek's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Roncalli is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They never let Rushville get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The Royals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Indian Creek hadn't done well against Shelbyville recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Braves came out on top against the Golden Bears by a score of 4-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Braves.

Delaney Jones made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Jones was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kristen Soots was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Jasmine Day was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one double.

Indian Creek pushed their record up to 17-5 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Roncalli, their record is now 21-7.
