Football Recap: Del Campo Takes a Loss

Del Campo was the 31-7 winner over Bella Vista when they last played one another back in September of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Cougars took a 34-20 bruising from the Broncos on Friday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Del Campo still got an impressive performance from Bryce Smith, who rushed for 170 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 10.6 yards per carry. Smith was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 64 yards.

It was another big night for Dvaughn Norwood, who rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns for Bella Vista. That's the most rushing yards Norwood has posted since back in August of 2024. Bella Vista also got a significant boost from Hugo Lopez, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 86 yards.

Del Campo's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Bella Vista, the win also got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Del Campo will head out on the road to challenge Antioch at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bella Vista, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Ponderosa at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
