Baseball Recap: Point Loma Extends Winning Streak to Four

It's playoff time, and Point Loma had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cathedral Catholic Dons on Wednesday, sneaking past 2-0. That's the fifth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 1-0 win on Tuesday.

Phoenix Brant made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Brant was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Brant wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ben Waterman, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was Jaxon Seiler, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Point Loma, bringing their record up to 19-12-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Cathedral Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-12.
