Recap: Riverdale Rebels vs. Lakeshore
It was a good run, but the Riverdale Rebels unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 45-34 to Lakeshore. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Riverdale in their matchups with Lakeshore: they've now lost three in a row.
Riverdale's loss came despite strong showings from Maryah Joseph and Jenna Thibodeaux. Joseph dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds, while Thibodeaux scored eight points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Joseph's trending in the right direction, as she's improved his point production for four games straight.
Riverdale's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-3. As for Lakeshore, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-13.
Riverdale will square off against Eleanor McMain at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Louisiana (Eleanor McMain is ranked 145th, while Riverdale is ranked 123rd). As for Lakeshore, they will be playing at home against St. Scholastica on Friday.
