Volleyball Recap: Illini West Comes Up Short

Illini West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Macomb Bombers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chargers of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Illini West's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Macomb, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Illini West wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Seymour on the 2nd. As for Macomb, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Brown County at 6:00 p.m. on the 11th.
