Volleyball Recap: Western Sierra Collegiate Academy Takes a Loss

Western Sierra Collegiate Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Bear River Bruins, falling 3-0. The Wolves were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bruins from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Western Sierra Collegiate Academy took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-14, 25-24.

Their offense was headlined by Cameron Svendsen and Anton Popel, who picked up two kills apiece. They got some help from Alexander Protsyuk and his three assists. Jason Michaeloff controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Western Sierra Collegiate Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Bear River, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Coincidentally, Western Sierra Collegiate Academy and Bear River will both be playing Oakmont the next time they take the court. Western Sierra Collegiate Academy will head out to face Oakmont at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Bear River will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
