Basketball Recap: Jaxson Archer's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Morristown-Hamblen East over Karns

Morristown-Hamblen East easily dispatched Claiborne on Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Hurricanes fell just short of the Karns Beavers by a score of 64-62 on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (61), the Hurricanes still had to take the loss.

Several Hurricanes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaxson Archer, who shot 53% from the field en route to 27 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Chance Stokely, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Morristown-Hamblen East now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Karns, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Morristown-Hamblen East wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 63-50 defeat against Knoxville Central on the 24th. As for Karns, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-48 loss against Farragut on the 24th.
