Basketball Game Preview: Glen Ridge Ridgers vs. Nutley Maroon Raiders

Glen Ridge and Nutley are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Glen Ridge Ridgers will host the Nutley Maroon Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Glen Ridge sitting on three straight wins and Nutley on four.

Last Saturday, Glen Ridge beat Bloomfield 57-47. Given the Ridgers' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Bengals are ranked 127th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nutley). They walked away with a 67-55 victory over Morristown on Friday. While the Maroon Raiders didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Nutley's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. As for Glen Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Glen Ridge beat Nutley 54-44 in their previous meeting back in February. Will Glen Ridge repeat their success, or does Nutley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
