            Softball Recap: Rigby Trojans vs. Highland Rams        
        
		
        
        
            After soaring to 16  runs the game before, Rigby was a bit more limited  in their  match  on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Highland Rams by a score of  3-2. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in May of 2024.
 Mikayla Dean was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she  pitched six innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   five  hits.
 At the plate, Rigby saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Traylee Reid, who  went 1-for-2 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double. That  stolen base was  Reid's first of the season.
Rigby has  been struggling recently as they've  lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record  this season. As for Highland, their record now sits at 11-6.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Rams beat Rigby by a score of  18-14 later that day.
