Football Recap: Millbrook Wildcats vs. New Bern Bears
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Millbrook had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took down the New Bern Bears 32-13. The win was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on five straight.
Brilison Mccullers continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 191 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards. Malachi Gilchrist did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 85 receiving yards.
Millbrook's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 14.5 times. Rashad Streets led the group effort, picking up 4.5 of those sacks all by himself. Quinton Cypher is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made seven or more in the last 24 games he's played dating back to last season.
Millbrook was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 256 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Millbrook's record is now 11-1. As for New Bern, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-3.
Millbrook will challenge Hoggard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hoggard will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Millbrook surely won't give up without a fight. New Bern does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
