Softball Game Preview: Altoona Mountain Lions vs. Cedar Cliff Colts

Altoona is 1-7 against Cedar Cliff since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Mountain Lions will welcome the Colts at 4:15 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Altoona is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They lost 13-6 to DuBois.

Graycie Price was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaya Sprankle, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Cedar Cliff was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Chambersburg, falling 15-4.

Teagan Garber made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. That hit marked the first that she got this season.

Cedar Cliff's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Altoona, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Altoona skirted past Cedar Cliff 6-5 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Do the Mountain Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Colts turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
