Baseball Recap: Hillsboro Takes a Loss

On Friday, the Hillsboro Burros came up short against the LaVergne Wolverines and fell 14-11. The Burros have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Justin Umares was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Ben Clay, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Hillsboro now has a losing record of 2-3. As for LaVergne, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hillsboro will take on Cane Ridge at 12:30 p.m. on Monday. As for LaVergne, they will face off against McGavock at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. LaVergne is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
