Preview: Lake Orion Dragons vs. West Bloomfield Lakers

Lake Orion is on a three-game streak of home wins, while West Bloomfield is on a 11-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Lake Orion Dragons will take on the West Bloomfield Lakers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Lake Orion scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. Everything went their way against Troy as Lake Orion made off with a 72-52 win. Given Lake Orion's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while Troy is ranked 404th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, West Bloomfield humbled Southfield Arts & Tech with a 97-29 victory. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win West Bloomfield has managed all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Bloomfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kendall Hendrix, who scored 25 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hendrix has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Summer Davis, who scored 20 points along with eight assists and four steals.

Lake Orion's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for West Bloomfield, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 7-0.

Things could have been worse for Lake Orion, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 48-30 loss to West Bloomfield in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Can Lake Orion avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
