Tyrah Gary commands the offense for Leopards win

Recap: Hernando Leopards vs. Nature Coast Tech Sharks

After losing to the Nature Coast Tech Sharks the last time they met, the Hernando Leopards decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Hernando walked away with a 44-36 win over Nature Coast Tech on Wednesday.

Hernando got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyrah Gary out in front who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Ayana Kincade, who scored 13 points.

Nature Coast Tech's loss came despite strong showings from Jaida Grier and Quintara Norwood. Grier dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Norwood scored 11 points along with four steals.

Hernando's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Nature Coast Tech, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Hernando won't have much time to rest: their next game is against South Sumter at 7:30 p.m. on January 11th. South Sumter has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 28. As for Nature Coast Tech, they will head out on the road to take on Hudson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hudson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Thursday.
