Baseball Game Preview: St. Dominic Crusaders vs. Westminster Christian Wildcats

The St. Dominic Crusaders will head out to face off against the Westminster Christian Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, St. Dominic earned a 7-4 victory over Kirkwood.

Alex Alsop looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Anthony Flamm Jr. was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Daniel Henke, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.

Meanwhile, Westminster Christian got the win against Lutheran South on Wednesday by a conclusive 12-1. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won three contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

St. Dominic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Westminster Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-4.
