Softball Recap: Donovan Takes a Loss

Donovan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Illinois Lutheran Chargers, falling 15-9. On the bright side, the nine- run performance marked the Wildcats' highest-scoring game to date.

Bailey Henneike was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season. Lily Anderson was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Donovan's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Illinois Lutheran, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Donovan Wildcats challenge St. Anne Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Illinois Lutheran, they will square off against Rich Township at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Raptors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.5 runs per game on average), something the Chargers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
