Softball Recap: Hillsboro Burros vs. Antioch Bears
Hillsboro extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 2-7 in the process. They came up short against the Antioch Bears, falling 20-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-3 last Tuesday.
As for Antioch, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-6. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by seven runs or more this season.
For Antioch's part, Maliyah Perry made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Perry was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
In other batting news, Chiari Batey was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with eight RBI, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted over her last ten games. Alaina Givens was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
As of now, neither Hillsboro nor Antioch have any future games scheduled.
