Carson hasn't had much luck against Jay M. Robinson recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cougars will host the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Carson took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat East Rowan 43-7. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Griffin Barber was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 77 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Rosean Perkins, who rushed for 78 yards and one TD on only ten carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Carson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 320 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, while Jay M. Robinson put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for West Rowan. The Bulldogs really took it to the Falcons for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-0 victory. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Falcons are ranked 170th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carson better keep an eye on Aury Greenfield. He was instrumental in Jay M. Robinson's win, throwing for 340 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also rushing for 80 yards on only five carries. Lj Watson was another key player, rushing for 55 yards and a pair of scores.
Jay M. Robinson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Ennis Stiles, Marece Miller, and De'Monte Barr picked up one apiece. Isaiah Woodburn was another major factor on D, making 15 total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending two passes.
The win got Carson back to even at 4-4. As for Jay M. Robinson, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
Carson took a serious blow against Jay M. Robinson when the teams last played back in September of 2024, falling 36-0. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
