Baseball Recap: Deer Park Comes Up Short

Deer Park extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 5-7. They came up short against the Medical Lake Cardinals, falling 7-0. The Stags were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Deer Park saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaac Wadleigh, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

As for Medical Lake, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games.

On Medical Lake's side, AJ Michaud made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Michaud has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zach Boyd, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Dylan Harris was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Looking ahead, Deer Park will face off against Rogers at 12:00 p.m. on the 18th. As for Medical Lake, they will take on Freeman at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
