Volleyball Recap: Morgan Trojans vs. Ogden Tigers
Morgan lost against Ogden back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Trojans fell 3-1 to the Tigers. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
While Morgan ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 22-25, 25-18, 25-22.
Kevin Wangsgard paced Morgan's offense, picking up 19 kills. Wangsgard got some help from Caleb Stephens and his 36 assists. Finally, Madden Bell kept Morgan's defense grounded, leading the team with nine blocks.
Ogden found their leader in freshman Kos Crowther, who had 11 digs and one assist. Crowther is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games he's played.
Morgan's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Ogden, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.
Morgan has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Ben Lomond on the 24th. As for Ogden, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Layton Christian Academy on the 25th.
