Basketball Recap: Shidler Takes a Loss

After flying high against Copan last Thursday, Shidler came back down to earth. The Shidler Tigers fell just short of the Medford Cardinals by a score of 54-52 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 279th, while the Cardinals are ranked 114th).

Shidler dropped their record down to 9-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Medford, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Shidler Tigers face off against the Olive Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shidler is facing Olive at the right time seeing as Olive is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Medford, they will face off against Timberlake at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
