On Tuesday Pine-Richland's undefeated season almost came to an end. They skirted past the Mars Fightin' Planets 4-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 on Monday.

Drew Boivin tossed a big game, tossing 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sam Heckert, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Tanner Cunningham also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Pine-Richland's record is now 4-0. As for Mars, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Pine-Richland will look to defend their home field on Monday against Fox Chapel at 4:15 p.m. As for Mars, they are taking a road trip to challenge North Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
