Basketball Recap: Peachtree Ridge Comes Up Short

Peachtree Ridge played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Parkview Panthers, falling 56-28. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 418th, while the Panthers are ranked 121st).

Parkview got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kennedi Benton out in front who posted 15 points and five steals. Benton has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaylah Ellison, who went 6 for 9 en route to 13 points and seven boards.

Peachtree Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Parkview, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

When Peachtree Ridge and Parkview next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Peachtree Ridge will challenge Collins Hill and their three-game winning streak at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Parkview will try to stop Norcross' nine-game winning streak when the meet at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
