Basketball Recap: Rocky Mountain Prep SMART's Losing Streak Snapped at Seven Games

Rocky Mountain Prep SMART needed a changed in momentum after dropping seven straight games and they got it from Xavier Galvan. The Rocky Mountain Prep SMART Ocelotls managed a 65-60 victory over the Kennedy Commanders on Friday thanks in part to Galvan, who dropped a double-double on 38 points and 13 rebounds. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points.

Despite the loss, Kennedy still got an impressive performance from Anthony Zink, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine boards. That's the most points Zink has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ki'Marri Dotson, who posted seven points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

Rocky Mountain Prep SMART's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-8. As for Kennedy, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-9.

Rocky Mountain Prep SMART didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 75-45 defeat against DSST: Cedar on the 22nd. As for Kennedy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 51-45 loss against Bruce Randolph on the 22nd.
