Football Recap: Salmen Starts Season with Loss on the Road + How To Watch

Salmen had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 38-25 to the Mandeville Skippers on Friday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Despite the loss, Salmen still got an impressive performance from Jimmy Chanzy, who rushed for 130 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Chanzy's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 112 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Ben Hendricks had an outrageously good game for Mandeville as he rushed for 200 yards and two scores on only 11 carries, and also threw for 111 yards and one TD. Jake Jacketti did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 97 receiving yards.

Salmen didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-44 defeat against East Ascension on the 12th. As for Mandeville, they have also already played their next matchup, a 30-21 loss against Madison Prep Academy on the 12th.
