Basketball Recap: Austin Achieve Polar Bears vs. La Grange Leopards
The Austin Achieve Polar Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 20th straight defeat. They were outmatched by La Grange at home and fell 64-6. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Austin Achieve in their matchups with the Leopards: they've now lost six in a row.
La Grange got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kylie Trlicek out in front who scored 27 points along with eight steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Campbell Cooper sg 2027, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds.
Austin Achieve's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-20. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.4 points per game. As for La Grange, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 18-10 record this season.
Austin Achieve will head out on the road to face off against the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for La Grange, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Buffaloes at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Giddings is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
