The Jefferson Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Tatum Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 29.9 points per game this season.

Jefferson managed to slip by Liberty-Eylau the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bulldogs came up short against the Leopards on Friday, falling 35-12. Despite 100 more yards than the Leopards, the Bulldogs couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Jefferson's loss came about despite a quality game from Tre Moss, who rushed for 33 yards and one score, and also picked up 33 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Jefferson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Lemarion Douglas. Jefferson got some further help from Kobin Tomlinson: he made 24 total tackles.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tatum). They pulled ahead with a 50-49 photo finish over White Oak on Friday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Roughnecks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Tatum's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Jefferson didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Tatum when the teams last played back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 19-13 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
