Softball Game Preview: South Fayette Lions vs. Mars Fightin' Planets

The South Fayette Lions will venture away from home to take on the Mars Fightin' Planets at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Mars took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on South Fayette, who comes in off a win.

South Fayette is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Keystone Oaks with a sharp 17-1 win on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Meanwhile, Mars was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Knoch, falling 11-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Fightin' Planets were not able to get on the board.

Mars' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for South Fayette, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

South Fayette was able to grind out a solid victory over Mars in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 14-10. Does South Fayette have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
