Baseball Game Preview: Jac-Cen-Del Eagles vs. Hauser Jets

The Jac-Cen-Del Eagles will take on the Hauser Jets at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Jac-Cen-Del has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Jac-Cen-Del's offense. They lost 11-0 to Southwestern on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 26 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Hauser had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They never let the Spartans get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. The Jets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by eight runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Stryker Gill's shutout, as he gave up just five hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kameron Blair, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Damyon Hunter, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Jac-Cen-Del's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Hauser, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Jac-Cen-Del has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Hauser struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Jac-Cen-Del came out on top in a nail-biter against Hauser in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Jets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
