Perry Central is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since September 4th on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to Heritage Hills. The loss continues a trend for the Commodores in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost four in a row.
While Perry Central ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-23, 25-22.
Meanwhile, Mitchell posted their closest victory since September 13th on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Owen Valley.
Mitchell was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-18, 16-25, 25-23, 15-7.
Perry Central better keep an eye on Paisley Modglin. She was instrumental in Mitchell's win, getting 14 digs and two aces.
Mitchell's victory bumped their record up to 7-17. As for Perry Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-6.
