Volleyball Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

If Independence was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Page on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles came up short against the Christ Presbyterian Academy Lions on Wednesday, falling 3-0.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-6, 27-25.

Elia Dinsmore paced Independence's offense, picking up ten kills. Dinsmore got some help from Raegan Burtch and her 14 assists. Burtch was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Christ Presbyterian Academy, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Independence has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Watertown on the 22nd. As for Christ Presbyterian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Sevier County on the 22nd.
