Baseball Recap: Buena Takes a Loss

Buena had lost three straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped down to 12-9 to make it four. They fell just short of the Absegami Braves by a score of 10-8. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Braves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 back in April.

As for Absegami, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games.

For Absegami's part, Ben Domschine looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Domschine has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Absegami got a massive performance out of Adrian Rosario, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Ben Caffarelli, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Looking ahead, Buena will be playing in front of their home fans against Gloucester County Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Absegami, they will take on Camden County Vo-Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
