Volleyball Recap: Pandora-Gilboa Comes Up Short

If Pandora-Gilboa was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Riverdale on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rockets fell just short of the Ottoville Big Green by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Rockets were not able to make up for their loss to the Big Green from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Pandora-Gilboa wouldn't go down easily and took Ottoville into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 19-25, 15-25, 25-17, 15-9.

Nevaeha Alvarado paced Pandora-Gilboa's offense, picking up 18 kills. Alvarado got some help from Cora Hovest and her 46 assists. Hovest was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Pandora-Gilboa's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Ottoville, their win ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 11-6.

Pandora-Gilboa didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Arcadia on the 24th. As for Ottoville, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against McComb on the 27th.
