Xavier faced Cheshire in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Falcons never let the Rams get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won three in a row.

Xavier pushed their record up to 17-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Cheshire, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-7.
