The Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks will take on the Palisade Bulldogs at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Cheyenne Mountain is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. Everything went their way against Pueblo County as they made off with a 14-2 victory. Considering the Red-Tailed Hawks have won nine games by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Charlie Scofield was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Cheyenne Mountain let Nate Glad and Jansen Roberts run wild. Glad went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Roberts got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most doubles Roberts has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Reickert, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.
Meanwhile, Palisade faced Falcon in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Bulldogs walked away with a 7-3 win over the Falcons. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.
Garrett Draper tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hunter Howard, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and one double. Tobyn Trottier was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Cheyenne Mountain is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Palisade, their record is now 19-9.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Cheyenne Mountain has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .449. However, it's not like Palisade struggles in that department as they've averaged .444. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Cheyenne Mountain was able to grind out a solid win over Palisade in their previous matchup back in May of 2022, winning 12-7. Will the Red-Tailed Hawks repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
